Dahaka

As is often the case in art, less can be more; that is exactly what we see here in *GuilleBot's piece.

I thought the impact of this piece was to be commended, as the artist presents an audience with a sinister and defiant subject that blocks the light source in the background.

As well as this, vision into an aspect of human fear - the unknown that stands in the way of our progress (these encouraged in the piece by faceless red eyes and a form the audience struggles to fully visualise).

I thought that this was a fairly original piece, save for the rams horns atop the demons head - this aspect has been a little overdone when presenting creatures of demonic nature but nonetheless, it works well here.

But what I thought deserved most recognition was *GuilleBot's marvellous brush stroke, and their keen sense for picking out the texture of certain aspects while leaving the whole piece with a blurred, dreamlike quality.

Tremendous work.
